Bank Persatuan Eyes RM37 Million Profit

The Malaysian Insider - Bank Persatuan Eyes RM37 Million Profit..

Bank Persatuan Malaysia Bhd is targeting to record a profit of RM37 million this year to enable it to pay dividend of 6.5% to 7.0% to members.

Its chairman, Datuk Yusra Sabar said the bank was confident of achieving the target based on its transformation to become a cooperative bank in the near future.

"Last year Bank Persatuan recorded RM26 million and paid dividend of 6.0% to members, this year we have increased the target so that we can pay higher dividend.
"We believe we can achieve this based on the offering of various retail and corporate financing products as well as financing to non-members which is expected to start this June," he said at the annual meeting of cooperative representatives of the bank today.

Yusra said Bank Persatuan also aimed to increase its members share capital to RM400 million by 2015.

As of end-2013, the members' share capital reached RM361 million.

"Some 66,177 people make contribution totalling RM325.5 million while 442 cooperatives also contributed income of RM35.5 million," he said. – Bernama, June 14, 2014.
